If you found your way here from a referral by Operation Ready Families, Family Assistance Network, one of our fine allied organizations or a friend we may have helped in the past, please understand this: We are still here to serve you. Operational issues we have with the national organization are a private matter and have been referred to the California State Attorney General, Secretary of State and the Internal Revenue Service for proper and legal review.

The all volunteer Board of Directors of this chapter were originally with Patriot Defenders Network (PDN) before we were approached by Operation Homefront to open a chapter in Northern California. Our organization had no geographic boundaries or rigid guidelines on who to serve. PDN, Inc. was established as a non-profit public benefit California corporation in May 2007.

The pictures above are from SSgt Stephanie Cowan and unit in front of a C-130, all stationed at Balad AFB about 68 Kilometers north of Baghdad.   As soon as the banner was received from the California State Fair, the Squad Commander gathered up the troops and had this picture taken with much gratitude for our remembrance of the troops serving us in combat and away from loved ones.

On a personal note.  My daughter Stephanie called the morning she got the banner with tears in her voice and pride for her mom and the work being done by all for the troops over there.  She knows she’s one of the lucky ones who is a short timer (due to come home next month) and she tells me all the troops have great pride in the work they are doing Iraq and need our support.

Visitor Sentiments

I remember that day, I awoke and turned the television on to find all the tv stations were blacked out. When I finally found one that was still broadcasting, these images and many many more were everywhere. I could not believe what I was seeing and hearing was real. I spent that entire day in front of the tv in shock and tears. It made no sense to me then as it makes no sense to me now that anyone would do something so terrible to other human beings.

Remembering it today, six years later, finds me falling to my knees in complete despair for the victims, the families, and our nation, exactly as it did on that day.

On the 1st anniversary on 9-11 I found your website. I was at work. The next morning before the kids went to school our family sat down to watch it. It has become a yearly tradition for my family and the friends I've sent the link to. Recently the New York Times asked "How Much Tribute Is Enough?" Your website says it best - Dare we forget!  This family won't. Thank you.

Memo to Operation Homefront Incorporated! It's not about us - it's about millions of loyal individual Americans,  thousands of little grass roots organizations, local churches, a now single parent and their remaining families who have turned their own personal loss into the service of others. Operation Homefront Sacramento, Inc is powerless without these very heroes in our homeland who selflessly lend their efforts to every project we're involved in.  Serving with us are proud and honorable members of the Armed Services.  Who better to help us stay on mission than those who serve and their families here at home. We will not forget your complicity to deny a deployed US Army Officer, serving in Iraq, of his desire and right to vote on matters of our self governance.

The Board of Directors of Operation Homefront Sacramento, Inc. has been through a transition. Now, together with our allied partners, we reaffirm the very mission that prompted us to accept the offer from our parent organization to advance their mission in areas we've served for years.

We will not abandon our roots, or fail to honor those who have helped us along the way. Our mission remains:

To provide in times of crisis or special needs, advocacy for and emotional and financial support of, the families of our nation’s deployed active duty military services personnel, members of National Guard, Military Reserves, members of the military services who have been injured while on duty, sworn public safety officers, first responders and firefighters.
